A full time 2-year Associate of Science degree in nursing
program. Successful completion permits the graduate to
take the national exam to obtain a Registered Nurse (RN)
license. The Associate of Science degree in Nursing prepares
the graduate to work in a position in nursing. An
Associate Degree in Nursing may be the first step in nursing
to prepare the RN for further studies (through university
programs) to progress in the profession to receive a
Bachelor of Science in nursing degree, then a Masters of
Science in nursing degree, and then a doctoral degree.

This program is for the
Licensed Practical Nurses who desire to become a
professional Registered Nurse and obtain an Associate of
Science degree in Nursing. Following successful
completion of prerequisites and the appropriate Excelsior
College Examinations, students are eligible for admission.
The articulation program is designed to facilitate the
transition to the professional Registered Nurse role.
Upon graduation, students receive an Associate in Science
Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the national
licensing exam (NCLEX).

This program is for the

This plan permits students who have completed a portion of a
professional Registered Nurse degree program at another
community college or university to be eligible to transfer
credit into Gulf Coast Community College ADN program.
Depending upon transcript evaluation, the student may be
allowed to enter the program with advanced placement.
Note: A student who has failed to achieve a “C” or
better in ANY two nursing core courses, in any RN nursing
program(s) attended, will not be considered for admission.
Students who have been readmitted one time to ANY RN program
are not eligible for admission.
